Kawakawa Bay is a cool spot in New Zealand where you can hang out by the beach, swim, kayak and just relax. It’s located on the east coast of the country, in a place called Franklin, which is part of the Auckland Region. The bay is on the western side of the Firth of Thames and the northern end of the Hauraki Gulf, and it’s just north of some cool mountain ranges called the Hunua Ranges. The bay gets its name from the Kawakawa trees that grow along the coast.
